Seminary Hill
A quiet, residential part of west Alexandria — tree-lined, low-rise, and a long way in feel from the noise of the corridor hotels. Duke Street a minute away carries the practical things: groceries, pharmacies, coffee, a spread of restaurants from Ethiopian to Vietnamese to plain good barbecue.
Old Town's waterfront, cobblestones and 18th-century blocks are ten minutes east. The monuments are fifteen minutes north. You get to choose which evening you're having.
