Privacy policy

What we collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form on our contact page: your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the dates and room type you are asking about, and anything you write in the message field.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry — quote a rate, check availability, arrange a group block or an event, or reply to a question. We do not add you to a mailing list on the strength of an enquiry.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards for our business records. If you would like your enquiry deleted sooner, ask and we will remove it.

Who else sees it

Our staff, and the email provider that carries the message. Enquiries sent through the form are passed to FormSubmit, a form-handling service that forwards them to our inbox; it processes the message on our behalf and under our instructions, and does not use it for anything else.

Third-party services on this site

Booking.com. Our booking buttons send you to Booking.com, a separate company with its own privacy policy and its own cookies. Anything you enter there is governed by their terms, not ours.

OpenStreetMap. Our maps are embedded from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address in order to serve the map tiles.

FormSubmit. Enquiries submitted through our contact form pass through FormSubmit, which forwards them to us by email. It receives whatever you put in the form, and nothing more.

Payment details

Never send card numbers by email or through the enquiry form. We take payment securely over the phone or at the front desk. If a message arrives containing card details, we delete it.

Your rights

Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, Virginia residents may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal data about them, to provide a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. You may also appeal if we decline a request. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on those grounds.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify who you are before acting, and respond within the timeframe the law allows.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
