Who we are

This website is operated by Hotel Pentagon South, an independently owned and operated hotel at 4641 Kenmore Ave., Alexandria, Virginia 22304. In these terms, "we", "us" and "the hotel" mean that business. "You" means anyone using this website or staying with us.

Using this website

You may use this site to find information about the hotel and to contact us. Please don't use it to send unlawful or abusive content, to attempt to gain access to systems or data that aren't yours, or to scrape it at a volume that interferes with other people using it.

The text, photographs, layout and code on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to link to any page. Copying substantial parts of it for your own commercial use is not permitted without our agreement.

Accuracy of what's on this site

We work hard to keep this site accurate and we correct errors as soon as we learn of them. Even so, descriptions, photographs, amenities, hours and travel times are given in good faith rather than as guarantees, and things change — facilities close for maintenance, hours shift, decor is refreshed.

If a specific detail will determine whether you book, call us and have us confirm it. That is particularly true of accessibility requirements, room configurations and sleeping arrangements, where we would much rather answer a question than have you arrive to something that doesn't suit. Photographs are representative of a room type and the room you receive may differ in layout, outlook or finish.

Reservations and rates

A reservation exists once we or our booking channel confirm it to you in writing. Rates are quoted per room, per night, and unless we say otherwise they exclude applicable taxes and fees. Rates are not held until a booking is confirmed and can change before then.

We may need to cancel or move a reservation in rare circumstances — a maintenance failure, an overbooking, or something outside our control. If that happens we will tell you as soon as we can and either find you comparable accommodation or refund what you have paid.

Bookings made through Booking.com

The booking buttons on this site take you to Booking.com, which is a separate company. Reservations you make there are governed by Booking.com's terms and cancellation policy, not by these terms, and any changes, cancellations or refunds for those bookings are handled through them. We are not responsible for the content, availability or accuracy of their website.

Enquiries sent through this site

The enquiry form is a way to ask us a question. Submitting it does not create a reservation and does not hold a room or a rate. We will reply, normally within one business day, and any booking follows from that reply.

Please do not send card numbers by email or through the form. We take payment securely by phone or at the front desk. If a message reaches us containing card details we delete it.

Check-in, check-out and payment

Check-in is from 3:00 pm and check-out is by 11:00 am. Earlier check-in and later check-out are subject to availability and may carry a charge — ask ahead.

We ask for a valid payment card at booking or on arrival, and may place a hold on it for the stay and for incidentals. Guests must be able to show government-issued photo identification at check-in. Where a rate depends on eligibility — government or military travel, for example — we may ask to see supporting identification.

Cancellation

The cancellation terms that apply to your stay are the ones shown on your booking confirmation. They vary by rate and by how you booked, so please read the confirmation rather than assuming. Group bookings and event contracts carry their own terms, which we set out in writing before you commit.

Parking

Parking is in a secure garage at $22 per night. Every space is paid; there is no free parking. Space for coaches and larger vehicles can be arranged in advance. Vehicles and their contents are left at your own risk, and the parking charge is for space, not for safekeeping.

Pets and service animals

Pets are welcome for a fee — ask the front desk for the current rate and any conditions. Service animals are welcome throughout the hotel at no charge and are not treated as pets. See our accessibility page.

Conduct, damage and smoking

The hotel is non-smoking throughout, including all guest rooms. Smoking in a room may result in a cleaning charge.

You are responsible for damage caused by you or anyone in your party, beyond ordinary wear. We may refuse service, or ask a guest to leave without refund, where behaviour endangers or seriously disturbs other guests or our staff.

Personal property

Please look after your belongings. In-room safes are provided for valuables. To the extent Virginia law allows, our liability for guest property is limited as provided by statute, and we are not responsible for items left in public areas, in vehicles or in the garage.

Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — missed flights, lost business, or similar — arising from your use of this website or your stay.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your stay is the one published when your reservation was confirmed. We will change the date at the top of this page whenever we revise it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the courts of Virginia have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here affects consumer rights you have under law that cannot be waived by agreement.
